Jordan and UAE Launch USD 2.5B Mining Freight Rail Project
Jordan and the UAE have launched a USD 2.5 billion, 403 km railway project through a joint venture to transport 16 million tonnes of freight annually, driving heavy civil construction demand.
Jordan and the United Arab Emirates have officially launched a landmark USD 2.5 billion railway project encompassing the construction of a 403 km freight corridor. Developed by the newly established Jordan – UAE Railway Company—a joint venture between UAE-based L’IMAD Holding and a Jordanian consortium including Jordan Phosphate Mines Company, Arab Potash Company, Government Investments Management Company, and the Social Security Investment Fund—the rail line is designed to move 16 million tonnes of phosphate, potash, and general freight annually.
The 403 km freight link constitutes a massive civil works and rail development corridor, accelerating bulk cargo logistics between primary mining basins and export hubs while boosting cross-border capital deployment between the UAE and Jordan.
Equipment dealers and rental operators across the Levant and GCC cross-border corridors face substantial demand for heavy civil packages, earthmoving fleets (large excavators, heavy dozers, motor graders, and articulated dump trucks), and specialized rail-bed preparation machinery.
Reflects expanding UAE institutional infrastructure investment into strategic regional transport corridors, integrating Levant mineral supply chains with broader Middle East trade networks.
