SMEC Develops 20-Year Masterplan for Saudi Arabia Red Sea Gateway Terminal Expansion

SMEC has completed an integrated 20-year phased masterplan for the expansion of the Red Sea Gateway Terminal (RSGT) at Jeddah Islamic Port. This plan underpins RSGT's Build–Operate–Transfer (BOT) concession agreement with the Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani), focusing on enhancing port capacity and operational efficiency in Saudi Arabia.

The masterplan's implementation is expected to significantly boost Saudi Arabia's port infrastructure capabilities, particularly at Jeddah Islamic Port.
